For Christmas shopping come and enjoy the Crafts for Christmas marquee in front of Blickling Hall on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th December. The Show is open between 10.30 and 3.30 on Saturday, and 10.30 and 4 o’clock on Sunday. As well as a huge selection of hand made presents and stands selling delicious food there are Christmas Trees and floral decorations for sale.
More than 50 stands include ceramics, jewellery, textiles, printmakers and artists, offering something to suit most pockets. Look out particularly for local makers, including Colin Boatman’s woodturning, watercolours and acrylic originals by Tim Hall and chocolates by Cooks of Swanton.
Craft workers coming from further afield include Judith Swannell with her beautiful handmade pottery and Lisa Saw whose jewellery is always popular. This year in the food hall there will be delicious Olives, cheeses, and dips.
The National Trust gift shop, bookshop and restaurant are all open during the day, but the house is closed. Tickets are available on the door at £3.00 for adults, £2.50 for National Trust Members/OAP’s and children under 14 free.
On the evenings of Friday 4th and Saturday 5th December Carol Singers and dazzling lighting bring the spirit of Christmas to Blickling. Ground floor rooms in this Jacobean house are decorated for Christmas including the magnificent Great Hall with its huge Christmas Tree. Outside, spectacular lighting picks out features in the gardens and there’s the large Crafts for Christmas marquee, mulled wine and mince pies, a Barbers Shop Quartet, handbell ringers and Christmas decorations for sale.
